I have been looking for a great product to use in my hair for a while. I’ve tried a couple of different things but I am not a big fan of the idea of buying and trying 20 million different {expensive} products for my hair.

Actually I think it would just make me more crazy because it already drives me crazy to see my cabinets so cluttered with stuff and I hate wasting things (which is good and bad because then it sits and gets old then I partially feel like a secret So I’m on a mission to use up the things in my cabinets even if I didn’t like them just to get rid of them unless of course it was just down right making my hair fall out.. :/ which thankfully I have not come across and hope to never do.

Oooookkkkk…… now that I got all of that out… here’s my review. I came across these products at Target and the reason I decided to try them is because I liked the ingredients, they smelled great, and the cost wasn’t crazy expensive for me.

As I Am Coconut Cowash Cleansing Conditioner

The reason I purchased this cowash is because I was looking to cut back on shampooing and wanted something that could cleanse my hair without stripping it dry. It works by gently cleansing your hair while moisturizing with no subs and it has a special blend that helps promote hair growth.

Key Ingredients: Tangerine, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Saw Palmetto and Phytosterols

Aqueous (Water, Aqua Purificada, Purified) Extracts: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) and Citrus Reticulata (Tangerine)¹, Cetyl Alcohol², Cetrimonium Chloride, Cetearyl Alcohol², PEG-40 Castor Oil, Stearlkonium chloride, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil², Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil¹, Phytosterols¹, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract¹, Quaternium-18, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance/Parfum, Limonene, Methylisothiazolinone

My Thoughts

I used it for about 2 months now and I really like it. I wanted to make sure that the results were consistent before making a review. But my initial experience was great! I immediately felt and seen a difference.

 • The coconut smell was delightful but wasn’t to overpowering which normally causes me to get queasy.
 • It wasn’t too thick or watery, it had a good consistency.
 • Good slip, I have no problems finger detangling(my preferred method) and or combing my hair out.
 • Left my hair clean but not squeaky clean (which I like because that means my hair is not dried out).
 • Left my hair shiny and soft.

 • My only con that I can think of is that I don’t care for the container it’s in. I wished they would have put it in a push bottle or something. If your not careful you can pull it right off the counter while trying to scoop some out.

I purchased mine at target for about $8 for a 16 ounce. Amazon has a 16 ounce for $6.79 which I think is good if your ordering other items that will equal atleast $35 for free shipping.

Of course I will {have} be buying again!

As I Am Leave In Conditioner

It’s not much I can say about this but IT’S GREAT! It’s really self explanatory. It’s a leave in conditioner that you put on after your wash and leave it. It can be applied to wet or dry hair and it leaves your hair feeling soft and smooth and helps you to be able to detangle more easily.

Key Ingredients: Extracts of Coconut, Amla, Sugar Beet Root, Green Tea, Lemon, Apple, Sugar Cane, Phytosterols and Saw Palmetto, Aqueous (Water, Aqua Purificada, Purified) Extracts: Cocos Nucifera (Coconut)¹ and Phyllanthus emblica (Amla)¹, Cetyl Alcohol¹, Citric Acid¹, Phytosterols¹, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit (Saw Palmetto) Extract¹, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract¹, Propylene Glycol, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract¹, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract¹, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Stalk Extract¹, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root¹, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance/Parfum, Limonene

 • Leaves my hair feeling soft and smooth.
 • Smells great but not too strong. Has a nice coconut clean scent if your into that.
 • Is not sticky which is why I use to stay away from leave ins.
 • Helps me to detangle.

 • Ummmm… none right now.

I bought mine at Target for about $9.99 for a 8 ounce and Amazon has it for $8.99 for a 8 ounce which again I only consider good if your planning on getting atleast $35 worth of items to get free shipping.

Yes! I will definitely be getting again.

Because of my great experience with these items, I do plan on trying more As I Am products but I have not ventured out yet to purchase any because honestly I have been {or should I say was} pretty much neglecting my hair since our first placement {read about it here} but now that {I think} I’m no longer in shock and have somewhat started to balance out this motherhood thing, I can no longer walk around looking like a crazy lady (or can I??? I seem to get a lot of passes for being a new long do that last??? ha!). Needless to say I’m sure my husband’s eyes are sore from looking at “messy” ponytail which is what I liked to call even though he’s too kind to say it.

So anywho…have you tried these products? if so what are/were your thoughts?
